Gannett’s A Community Thrives initiative will benefit local nonprofits

A Community Thrives grant program helps community nonprofits

The donation period for A Community Thrives initiative has begun. The grant-making and crowdfunding program from the USA TODAY NETWORK, includes hundreds of local media brands from USA Today and Gannett.

Through the initiative, nonprofit organizations will have the opportunity to receive donations and grants that benefit their cause.

Grants for the program range from the minimum of $2,500 for local grants to the maximum $100,000 for national grants. The grants will be decided by leaders from across the USA TODAY NETWORK.

For those looking to donate the minimum donation is five dollars but there is no maximum donation limit.

This year six Mississippi nonprofits were selected for the crowdfunding program which will run through Aug.13. Learn about each below.

Central Mississippi Down Syndrome Inc. is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide support, education, enrichment and resources to individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
